Below are my suggestions about things to do in Siem Reap in the daytime!
- Visit the temples
Siem Reap was the capital city of the Khmer Empire, it was established in an early 9th century. There are a lot of temples were built in this city. The temples mostly were built along both sides of Siem Reap River.
The reason most tourists come here, because of Angkor Wat. The popular tour is the Angkor Wat small circuit, which is a lot of temples locating such as Angkor Thom, Bayon, Baphoun, Royal wall enclosure, and Ta Prohm.
There are other temples located just outside of Siem Reap town which is also very popular. These include Beng Mealea, Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. You can visit these temples on our grand circuit tour.
2. Kulen Waterfall
Phnom Kulen is the birth of the Khmer empire, in an early 9th century ( 802 AD ) Khmer was built the city on top of this hill, it is still very holy for local people to do worshiping and swimming in the huge pool of waterfall, walk along the river of the 1000 Lingas were carved on the riverbed show up different shape of images to turn the water to be holy, the giant reclining Buddha right on the original stone lying head to east position is becoming popular for Khmer people, there two different steps of waterfall that we can enjoy our shower after a bit of walking.
3. Floating Villages
There are four different options to visit the floating village. During the Wet Season, we’ll take a leisurely boat ride to see the many houses that appear to float on water. We’ll see how the local villages live within a flooded community. We’ll see just how local houses tower 10 meters above the land, we’ll journey around the many farms growing vegetables and cash crops within the dryer fertile soils that were previously flooded during the wet season.
At Kampong Phluk, is second biggest floating village located at South-East of Siem town, taking the private boat to see how Cambodian make their life living by fishing, see the houses is really high on pillars and view the site of the biggest lake in South East Asia.
At Kampong Kleang, is the biggest floating village in Siem Reap, which is located by 10 villages on that community? See the more thing in the lake of fishermen. We need the half day to see this part of the lake.
At Chong Kneas is the short option to discover by boat, there are more than 500 families living there you need 3 hours to visit it.
At Me Chrey floating village is located at the South-West of Siem Reap city, it is quite a remote place in Siem Reap, most people are living under the poverty, to help local jobs, the governor decided to make a boating community to provide job to boat people that realize on fishing.

Siem Reap has many sports clubs including football, basketball, volleyball. You can also play snooker, join the Cambodian people for your time in Siem Reap to play and help us to coach if you are the player.
7. Eating and Drinking
There are many restaurants and bars in Siem Reap, especially around Pub Street and the Night Market. You can get great food and drink even the daytime.
8. Walking
You can go for a walk along the Siem Reap River or in the Royal Gardens, Preah Ang Chak Ang Chom, the main Buddhist shrine in Siem Reap town.
9. Shopping
There are some shopping centers and malls in town including Lucky Mall, Heritage Walk, Angkor Trade Center. You can also visit some local markets in town. The most popular is the Phsar Chas (the old market), walk over the river located the other side of an Old market, is Made in Cambodia Market, showing us a lot of products made by local people.
10. Killing field
There is a lot of information about the Pol Pot Regime after black time finished, it left a lot of sad history through Cambodia, in this Place is the collection of the skeleton.
